ZywOo in love with Cache: "I'm the A player on this map, I love it too much"

If anyone had doubts about how ZywOo gets on with Cache, the ESL Pro League final cleared them up. The Frenchman opened the series against MOUZ with 21 kills and a 2.00 rating on the map, and after lifting the trophy he made it clear that was no accident.
A favourite since 2017
Speaking to HLTV, ZywOo explained that his relationship with the map goes way back: "Even back in the days in 2017, it was maybe one of my favourite maps." What he values most is how clearly he reads it: "I know what to peek, I know what to swing, I know how to help my teammates on this map."
He even allowed himself a small joke about his own level: "I'm the A player on Cache. It's kind of weird to say that, but no, I love this map too much."
Coming from the best player in the world, that's bad news for everyone else. Cache returned to the competitive pool this summer in place of Overpass, and some teams are still rebuilding their strategies. Vitality, it seems, have already done their homework.
The Overpass sore spot
It wasn't all praise for the current pool. ZywOo admitted it hurt to see Overpass go, since it was one of Vitality's best maps. That's the flip side of any map pool change: whoever loses their strong map has to start again, and the French side have had to reinvent themselves mid-year.
He had kind words for the rest of the maps, with one exception. On Anubis he was blunt: it "really can be better." The rest of the pool, in his view, is "great."
Why it matters
Beyond the anecdote, ZywOo's words say something about where Vitality are. The team has found a map of its own in Cache just when it needed one most, after losing Overpass, and its star feels as comfortable there as almost anywhere.
With PGL Masters Bucharest around the corner and the Singapore Major on the horizon, any opponent facing Vitality now knows which map they shouldn't let them pick.
