latto, MVP in Suzhou: his three awards are Legacy's three titles in China
Bruno "latto" Rebelatto has been named Most Valuable Player of FISSURE Playground 3 after leading Legacy to the title in Suzhou. It's the third MVP of his career, and it comes with a coincidence that's starting to look notable.
His other two awards came at precisely the two previous editions of the CS Asia Championship, in 2025 and 2026. In other words: latto's three MVPs align exactly with the three titles Legacy have won on Chinese soil.
A final in his own image
The award allows no argument given how the weekend unfolded.
In the grand final against G2, latto showed up on all three maps. On Ancient he posted 23 kills and anchored the CT side that ultimately decided the opening map, after G2 had taken both pistols. On Mirage, alongside try, he dismantled the Europeans to a 9-3 defensive lead. And on Dust2 he stepped up again to turn the closing map into a stroll.
But his best performance may not have been the final at all — it was the semi-final. In the Brazilian derby against MIBR, decided 2-1 after an agonizing Inferno that finished 16-14, latto posted 60 kills, the most of the entire series.
The team that doesn't depend on a star
Here's the nuance that makes the award more interesting. Legacy aren't a one-man team, and that's been evident all tournament.
In the series that secured them top spot in their group against FURIA, four of their five players finished with a rating of 1.18 or higher, with dumau rounding out the group on a 1.10 that would be a starting figure at many other teams. latto and n1ssim both cleared 1.30.
That distribution is precisely what has made Legacy a problem for anyone: shutting down their best player isn't enough, because everyone else turns up too. That latto takes MVP in that context, where nobody has had to carry the team, carries double merit.
A year of growth
The award caps a 2026 in which Legacy have made a notable leap. They finished third at the Esports World Cup in Paris after eliminating NAVI and Major champions Falcons back-to-back, without dropping a single map in either tie.
That could have been read as an exceptional run. This title in Suzhou, with its accompanying MVP, is starting to read as something else.
And it leaves an open question for what's ahead: if latto and Legacy are this decisive in China, what happens when the circuit moves to Europe? The calendar answers soon, with StarSeries Fall starting this week and the Singapore Major waiting in November.
