IEM Beijing playoffs set: MOUZ and The MongolZ go straight to the semi-finals

The IEM Beijing group stage is over and the six playoff teams are set. The two group winners, MOUZ and The MongolZ, wait directly in the semi-finals.

The matches for first place

In Group A, The MongolZ beat FURIA 2-1. The Bucharest champions took Inferno 13-10, but the Mongolians hit back on Cache (13-8), with bLitz on a 1.97 rating, and closed the series on Dust2, 13-11. 910, with 26 kills on the last map, was the best player of the series on a 1.44.

In Group B, MOUZ beat PARIVISION 2-0 and remain unbeaten at the event. xertioN had already warned earlier in the week: "I think this is the best MOUZ we have ever seen."

The last places

NAVI took Group A's third place after crushing Falcons, with a 12-0 T side on Mirage. In Group B, BETBOOM knocked out Liquid 2-1 in a very close match: they won Anubis 13-5, lost Nuke 11-13 and closed Mirage 13-11. The decider was defined by a zorte ace in round 23, and Magnojez finished it off with four kills in the final round.

Times in Central European Time:

Quarter-finals (Friday 6): PARIVISION vs NAVI at 7:30; FURIA vs BETBOOM at 10:45.
Semi-finals (Saturday 7): The MongolZ vs PARIVISION/NAVI winner at 7:30; MOUZ vs FURIA/BETBOOM winner at 10:45.
Grand final (Sunday 8): at 8:30.

The FURIA-BETBOOM quarter-final repeats October's Thunderpick World Championship final, won 3-2 by FURIA, and the PGL Masters Bucharest quarter-final, which FURIA won 2-0.

Besides Falcons and Liquid, HEROIC, B8, Legacy, FaZe, Aurora, TYLOO, G2 and 9z went out in the group stage.
