PARIVISION and MOUZ reach Beijing playoffs as TYLOO, G2 and Aurora fall by the wayside

PARIVISION and MOUZ reach Beijing playoffs as TYLOO, G2 and Aurora fall by the wayside

Group B at IEM Beijing has its first two qualifiers. PARIVISION and MOUZ won both their matches and on Wednesday play each other for a direct semi-final spot. The loser goes to the quarter-finals.

The qualifiers

PARIVISION opened by beating G2 2-1, with a spectacular Jame (63 kills to 33 deaths), then beat Liquid 2-0 (13-7 on Ancient and 13-9 on Inferno). MOUZ beat TYLOO and then BETBOOM, with a Mirage settled 16-14 in overtime.

xertioN didn't hide his optimism: "I think this is the best MOUZ we have ever seen."

The eliminations

The group has produced several notable exits. G2 went out early after losing to PARIVISION and Aurora, their third straight group-stage elimination. 9z also fell early, in their case to TYLOO.

Two more went out on Wednesday. Liquid knocked out TYLOO 2-0 (13-11 on Mirage, after TYLOO saved four straight map points, and 13-4 on Anubis), with EliGE on a 1.67 rating and NAF posting a 2.60 on Anubis, the best map of his career. BETBOOM crushed Aurora: 13-5 on Mirage and 13-5 on Cache, with Magnojez on a 1.70.

The end of a dark month for TYLOO

For TYLOO, the exit caps a very tough few weeks. Playing at home and with Jee back after chickenpox, the team could only beat 9z. And it comes just days after missing out on the Singapore Major, having withdrawn from HyperX Retake in Lisbon to play this event.

The last spot

Liquid and BETBOOM meet on Wednesday for Group B's third and final playoff place, with the playoffs running from 6 to 8 November.
