MartinezSa and HEROIC bow out of IEM Beijing after losses to The MongolZ and Falcons

IEM Beijing is over for HEROIC and Spain's Antonio "MartinezSa" Martínez. The Danish side lost on day two to The MongolZ and, in the lower bracket, to Falcons.

A good start

The event started well. In the first round HEROIC beat B8 2-0, 13-4 on Nuke and 13-7 on Dust2, avenging a defeat to the same opponent in February. MartinezSa finished that series with 23 kills and 16 deaths, in a match where susp and Chr1zN were the standouts.

The Nuke that got away

The MongolZ awaited in the Group A upper semi-final. They took Inferno 13-7, and the second map, Nuke, turned into a battle that needed two overtimes. It ended 19-17 to The MongolZ, who qualified for the playoffs.

No answer to kyousuke

The last chance came against Falcons, and there HEROIC had no answer: 13-8 on Ancient and 13-6 on Dust2. Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin posted a 1.90 rating with 44 kills, and a 2.17 on Dust2. HEROIC's best was Chr1zN with a 1.05, while MartinezSa finished with 22 kills, 32 deaths and a 0.77.

Next stop: the Major

HEROIC, coached by Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer since 1 October, now have a few weeks to prepare for the Singapore Major, where they start in Stage 1. MartinezSa will be one of the two Spaniards at the event, alongside SunPayus.
