FURIA win PGL Masters Bucharest at FalleN's final event in Europe

FURIA are the PGL Masters Bucharest champions. The Brazilian side beat Nemiga 3-2 in a best-of-five final on Saturday 31 October, making it two titles in a row, just two weeks after winning the Thunderpick World Championship in Malta.

The road to the title

In the quarter-finals FURIA beat BETBOOM 2-0 in a rematch of the Thunderpick final. In the semi-finals they knocked out MOUZ 2-1: 13-6 on Dust2, a 9-13 loss on Mirage and 13-9 on Cache.

A five-map final

The final opened with a warning. Nemiga crushed FURIA 13-2 on Ancient, but the Brazilians hit back hard on Dust2 (13-5) and Cache (13-2). Nemiga forced a fifth map by winning Mirage 13-11, and FURIA sealed the title on Nuke, the decider.

The standout was YEKINDAR, who finished the final with 82 kills and a 1.56 rating and topped the scoreboard on three of the five maps.

FURIA take home $450,000, split equally between the players and the club. Nemiga collect $200,000; MOUZ, third after beating Vitality 2-0, $137,500; and fourth-placed Vitality $87,500.

FalleN's European farewell

The title carries special meaning for Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, who announced at IEM Rio that he will retire at the end of 2026. After the final, the Brazilian said Bucharest was his last event on European soil. According to Dot Esports, it is the 48th title of his career. His last big challenge will be the Singapore Major, where FURIA go straight into Stage 3.

Nemiga, the big surprise

Despite the defeat, Nemiga's run deserves a mention of its own. The team came to Bucharest through the European closed qualifier, played their first tier-one playoffs, knocked out FUT and Vitality and will be in Stage 2 of the Singapore Major.
