FURIA fight back against BETBOOM to win the Thunderpick World Championship and end almost eleven months without a title

FURIA fight back against BETBOOM to win the Thunderpick World Championship and end almost eleven months without a title

FURIA have their first title of 2026. The Brazilian side won the Thunderpick World Championship in Malta on Sunday 18 October, beating BETBOOM 3-2 in a best-of-five final and retaining the trophy they won at the previous edition.

It ends a drought of almost eleven months: FURIA hadn't won an event since BLAST Rivals Season 2 last November. Days before the playoffs began, FalleN said winning gives a real boost and that he hoped to feel it again. He got there at the first chance.

The road to the final

FURIA reached the playoffs by beating Legacy and eased past Aurora in the semi-finals. On the other side of the bracket, BETBOOM produced the upset of the event by knocking out Falcons. Aurora finished third after winning the bronze match against Falcons, a result that also lifted them above Falcons in the VRS ranking.

A final with everything

The series opened on Dust2 with a clear 13-6 for FURIA, driven by KSCERATO's 21 kills to just 8 deaths.

Ancient flipped the script entirely. FURIA were 7-1 up when two near-consecutive teamkills triggered a collapse: BETBOOM ran off eight rounds in a row, levelled the map and won it in overtime. On Nuke, BETBOOM built a 7-2 lead on defence behind Magnojez's multi-kills on A and took the map to make it 2-1.

With their backs to the wall, FURIA opened Mirage 10-2 on the CT side, but BETBOOM answered with nine straight rounds to turn it around. FURIA broke the run with a post-plant on A, and it was FalleN who closed the map 13-11 with a triple in a 2v4 on the same site, forcing a fifth map.

The decider was played on Cache, and there FURIA sealed the title.

KSCERATO, MVP

KSCERATO was named MVP of the event. In the final he finished with 82 kills to 72 deaths, 81.1 average damage per round and a 1.13 rating, the best on his team. FalleN closed the series with 78 kills and a 1.08.

Prize money and what's next

FURIA take home $250,000, plus another $250,000 for the club. BETBOOM collect $125,000 plus the same for the organisation, and Aurora $50,000 plus $50,000.

There won't be much time to celebrate. FURIA open PGL Masters Bucharest against DENDELE on Saturday 24, and they arrive with the momentum they'd been looking for.
